Slip-Resistant Flooring

Slip-resistant and durable flooring is smart. It’s important to choose flooring that will hold up to everyday use and will not break down or fall apart easily. Individuals who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices can wreak havoc on carpets and some tiles, especially if the wheels mark up the floor, so plan accordingly. Keep it easy to clean to make life easier for everyone.

Loose rugs are a potential hazard for anyone, especially if they have trouble seeing or have decreased balance. This includes throw rugs. Don’t use them.

Slip-resistant flooring choices on stairs in stairwells is important to reduce the occurrence of a trip or fall.
